Count Your Smiles

This week was full of smiles! The bestie got me my very first “Merry Unbirthday” card! We celebrate our unbirthdays every month, but this is a new step in our tradition. Her gift happened to fall on a day I needed a little extra help smiling, and it did the trick. Having a great friend who knows exactly what you need and when you need it: smile #1. An UnBday card, (a big) smile #2. Knowing our next girl date is to a wine bar to celebrate our unbirthdays = perfect!

The very same day someone special surprised me with a “thank you” gift for a photo shoot I had the pleasure of modeling for recently. In said gift, there was an Audrey Hepburn notebook (I have a notepad hoarding problem and an Audrey obsession, so it was perfect), a few Muppets movies (another addiction)…and a gift card to my most favorite restaurant- Olive Garden. Best. Gifts. EVER! Let’s just count that as an additional 10 smiles. Ironically, the cherry on top was getting a glimpse of the proofs and finding a moment of true happiness they captured. I haven’t seen myself grin that genuinely in a while. The picture now is something I plan to keep handy when I need to remember true happiness. Often times it’s found in the simplest moments. Thank you Eric & Jay -XO, Stephanie

The baby brother arrived this week via Southwest airlines, while the US Postal service delivered my “naughty” novels! Hellloooo Fifty Shades of Grey box set! Even ESPN apparently was out to please me, as they finally put something on the cover that caught my attention and made me open the magazine! Evidently, nearly naked dude is a football player? I would have never noticed him in those spandex pants. I think this outfit is much more appealing, and would like to petition the NFL for these new uniforms so that women can actually enjoy watching the sport instead of just pretending to. Smiles = 23 bajillion.

And now it’s Friday and the weekend is moments away. Matthew’s 18th birthday is tomorrow, and we are celebrating at the most magical place on earth, Disney World! I even get Monday off to spend a little extra time with the brother and father while they are in town. It just keeps getting better (heelllloooo winning lotto ticket, this is your moment…)!

Happy Friday and here’s to counting your smiles,

Stephanie

  1. Haha that cover is hilarious… and kinda creepy too :) BTW LOVE Audrey… medium to huge obsession here as well. Throw in a little Marilyn (I definitely can pull of her look a little easier) and I’m all good. Glad to had a happy Unbirthday! Here’s to plenty more to come!

  2. Oh, So good to see you this happy! Have a wonderful weekend and know that the picture of you kicks butt! If it was mine I would make 14 copies and paste them everywhere. You are beautiful and the other picture is worth saving too. Hee Hee.

  3. Whoooaa! Love that photo of you!! Glad it’s all good for you in sunny Florida and that your family is so important to you. When everyone else fails, family is still on your side. Something my 21 year old daughter is learning these days… That ESPN photo is creepy… lol!

    • Family is absolutely the most important thing in the world! It takes time to learn that. At least your daughter IS learning that. Some people live their entire life and miss it! That ESPN photo is awesome, not creepy! LOL! And thank you for the kind words, you are too sweet. :-)
