Actually, I really didn’t. It was pretty salty. Everything tasted like ocean the rest of the day.
The kiss on the cheek was a lot better.
Oh, and remember how I intentionally booked the Dolphin Encounter in the enclosed tank due to my fear of fish? Yep, there were fish…
The nice photographer lady was kind enough to snap a picture of them for memories. This most likely was to help pass time while I was busy falling off the ledge in the tank after noticing the fish and panicking. No worries, I made it.
My buddy Copernicus thought my fear of fish was pretty funny. He told my how silly I was by splashing water my way and then laughing at me.
Despite his laughter and splashing, I still loved him and asked if I could take him home.
But he said he was really happy at Dolphin Discovery and that Grand Cayman was his home, so I kissed him goodbye and parted ways.
Swimming with Copernicus was one of my most favorite bucket list experiences yet, despite killer fish being in the tank. It just goes to show that sometimes facing your fears is totally worth it! I left Grand Cayman with a happy heart, a happy soul and a smile from ear to ear.

Stephanie, I LOVED your story and pictures about your Dolphin experience. I also want to tell you that I really like your personal brand signature. It shines through your writing, your personal style and your blog content. I am impressed.

Hi Amanda! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. It really means a lot to hear that. Happy holidays and thank you for stopping by and saying hi!
that’s awesome! nice work overcoming u’r fear ; )
Lol, thanks!
awesome!
I’ve been kissed by a dolphin and loved it. We did the Dolphin Encounter in the Bahamas (Blue Lagoon). It was the most awesome experience ever. Great photos.
Isn’t is so much fun!? Were you on a cruise?
Nope. We were staying in Nassau for a week and doing some day trips. It is one of the most memorable things we’ve ever done. I wish my photos had turned out as good as yours.
Ooo…how is/was Nassau? It’s on a lot of the future cruises I’m looking at, but I don’t know anyone that has been there to get feedback from.
It was several years ago (soon after Sept. 11 to be exact) but we had an awesome time. We stayed right on the beach at Cable Beach. I can’t remember the name of the hotel but I don’t think it’s there anymore (or not under the same name). It was right beside the Crystal Palace Hotel and Casino.
The Ardastra Zoo is really cool. They have “parading” flamingos. Atlantis is, of course, fabulous. We also did a day trip to Rose Island, which has the softest sand I’ve ever felt anywhere. Just snorkeled, swayed in hammocks and relaxed the day away. Blue Lagoon, where the dolphins were, is top notch. I think they also have sting rays but I’m not positive about that.
Sounds fabulous! So you would recommend it then I’m assuming?
Most definitely!
Cool.
very nice! we like the cute thing~
Hi Stephanie! Thanks for dropping by my blog and liking my post. I like yours, too! Grand Cayman was it? One of my favorite destinations. Glad you had a good time.
Grand Cayman and Cozumel! Thanks for the return visit! Good to “connect!”
Wonderful! Great photos too! You look so happy, glad Grand Cayman treated you well. You look great in the white dress…
Thanks John! It was actually a towel that was a dress! Super easy to wear over a bathing suit and look like you don’t have a towel wrapped around you. Although I’m not sure how it would look on men.
Good for you for “stepping out” of your comfort zone! This is my dream to swim with the dolphins but in Hawaii. Thanks for sharing the amazing photos and congrats on swimming with your fear!
Dolphins kick some serious butt! I didn’t get to swim with them but I got to sit in the water and play with them in a reef in Cuba last year. Looks like you had a ball!
That’s right, I forgot everyone else in the world can go to Cuba, LOL! How was Cuba?
Haha… Land of the Free??? I kid. It’s a beautiful country and the people are so nice. The dolphins were pretty awesome too
Yes, “Free” as decided by our “elected” leaders…lol! Sounds like a fun place to visit! maybe one day…
